The scope of the project involves the design, financing, construction, maintenance, facility management, insurance and commercial exploitation of a multi-stage parking place of the Old Grocery Market of the Municipality of Chios and the restoration of this area. The duration of the Partnership is thirty (30) years. Contracting Authority of this project is the Municipality of Chios.

The area of the Old Grocery Market of the Municipality of Chios is located in a central point of Chios town, where five years ago, the grocery market of Chios was placed. The existence of the grocery market in the center of Chios town resulted to pollution problems and the downgrade of the area. After the Grocery Market was transferred, the area remained abandoned and un-exploited. The implementation of the Partnership aims to develop the area of the Old Grocery Market, solve the serious traffic problems and confront the lack of parking places in the center of town, restoring and improving the whole area of the Old Grocery Market.
The indicative estimated budget (NPV) of the project amounts to 6,5 million euros and will be fully repaid. Moreover, the partnership agreement will provide for a minimum guaranteed revenue on behalf of the Private Partner to the Municipality of Chios and, in case the turnover from the operation of the parking station exceeds a certain level, the additional profit will be shared between the public and the private partner.
