This PPP project involves the design, financing, construction, maintenance, and facility management of 11 sport centres and 13 swimming centres in the Municipalities of Salamina, Katerini, Ormilia, Miconos, Samothraki, Githeion, Oinofita, Polichni, Mikra, Kalamata, Zakinthos, Ampelokipoi, Korydallos, Pallini, Elos, Drama, Pilea, Thermi, Thiva, Polygyros, Igoumenitsa, Moudania, Kastoria and Aspropyrgos. The duration of the Partnership is 25 years. Contracting Authority of this project is the General Secretariat of Sports.
The private partner that will be selected will undertake all services related to the maintenance and facility management of the infrastructure (cleaning, guard) so that the above-mentioned sport and swimming centres be readily available for operation by the Municipalities.

This PPP project is part of the strategic planning of the Ministry Of Culture and the General Secretariat of Sports for enhancing the sports? activities at a municipal level, covering sport and cultural needs, creating new jobs, attracting teams for recreation and training and saving resources by the rational management of the infrastructure.
 
The estimated cost (NPV) of the availability payments that will be made by the Contracting Authority to the private partner that will undertake the project amounts to 118 million euros, plus VAT. The heavy maintenance and insurance costs of the buildings are not included in this figure and are estimated up to 20% of the total budget of the project.

Upon the conclusion of the construction of the project, the sports facilities will be given to the respective Municipalities. The Municipalities will undertake the operating expenses (water, heating, trainers etc) along with the expenses related to the facility management of the infrastructure (cleaning, guard etc) that will be paid to the Hellenic State by the Municipalities. The final cost to be paid by the Greek State will be determined, upon the conclusion of the contract award procedure.
